Complementing our Jazz Studies Program, the Dimensions in Jazz concert series brings renowned avant-garde musicians to Portland. Held annually since 2011, the Early Music Festival celebrates the origins of classical music.

Organized by PCM faculty member Timothy Burris, the festival brings three day’s of music from the Early Baroque to the early Romantic period to Portland audiences. It also includes a pre-festival lecture and demo held at local venues.

Currently on hiatus, the festival features an array of new chamber music by composers from Maine and northern New England. Many are on hand to introduce their pieces and interact with the audience.

Performers include many of the region’s finest musicians,.

Plans are underway for the festival to return in 2020.
