Scott Wheatley, Voice


Scott Wheatley’s operatic performances include Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Marcello in La Bohème, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, and Tonio in I Pagliacci.

He has performed with the Kansas City Lyric Opera, New York City Opera, Whitewater Opera, Bronx Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Northeast, Connecticut Grand Opera, and the Ashlawn Summer Festival companies. He made his Lincoln Center solo debut in Mozart’s Solemn Vespers and has been a soloist with the Collegiate Chorale in New York, Israel and Switzerland.

As a professional choral artist, he has sung internationally with renowned conductors, Lorin Maazel, Sir Colin Davis, Zubin Mehta, Alan Gilbert, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Kurt Masur, with the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic to name a few.

Scott recently relocated to Portland from New York City and is pleased to be on the faculty of the Portland Conservatory of Music.

A Kansas native, he holds degrees from the University of Missouri/Kansas City Conservatory of Music and the University of South Florida.
