Drummer Brian Shankar Adler is offering a free jazz workshop before his Quintet performs later in the evening.
The workshop is free and open to the public.
The Quintet is made up of Matt Moran on vibes, Jonathan Goldberger on guitar, Rob Jost on bass, and Santiago Leibson on piano with Brian Shankar Adler on drums.

Brian Shankar Adler is a multidisciplinary percussionist and composer based in Brooklyn, NY. With an expansive understanding of time, a colorful sonic palette and a mastery of groove that few others possess, Adler explores the unchartered terrain beyond: jazz, world music, rock, experimental and new music forms. Adler has recorded on over thirty albums and has worked with: Bash the Trash, Bomba de Tiempo, Bombay Rickey, Chelsea Clinton, Moppa Elliott, Sheila Jordan, Guillermo Klein, Michael Leonhart, Frank London, Kate McGarry, Kamala Sankaram and Elizabeth Swados. He has been featured on WNYC’s “New Sounds,” Jason Bivin’s book “Spirits Rejoice,” has presented music at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Roulette, Rubin Museum, Smalls, Walt Disney Hall and Kennedy Center. He currently leads several projects including his quintet and Human Time Machine, an improvising percussion ensemble.
