The Portland Conservatory of Music is thrilled to welcome USM’s Laura Kargul for a master class featuring PCM piano students who will have an opportunity to learn from Laura is this unique setting.
Each student will have a 30min block with Kargul to perform a selection they have been studying with their teacher, to receive feedback and constructive advice and implement it real time. It is a great experience for students to perform for an audience so the public is more than welcome to join us!
Dr. Kargul has collaborated with ensembles such as the Lark Quartet, the Portland String Quartet, the Da Ponte String Quartet and the Michigan Chamber Strings, in venues such as the Ordway Music Theater in St. Paul, the Aspen Music Festival, Music Mountain, the Evian Music Festival in France and the Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca in Italy. She began her duo collaboration with violinist Ronald Lantz in 2010.
Dr. Kargul has served as the Director of Keyboard Studies at the University of Southern Maine since 1989. USM has recognized her contributions with its Faculty Senate Award for outstanding teaching.
