Girl Singers of Maine
The Girl Singers of Maine (GSOM) began in 2018 under the direction of Maria Belva, an experienced choral conductor for both adults and youth.
GSOM offers choral training to three age groups, each with a distinct musical experience: The Skylarks, Bella Canta and Iris Ensemble.
The choral repertoire is varied, engaging, and wide-ranging, from the Renaissance to the 21st centuries. Performances include a Winter Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May at Woodfords Church. The Iris Ensemble have several other performance opportunities during the year, and is traveling to Italy in April, 2020.
The choirs will occasionally overlap in a rehearsal, so they can join voices in a single piece for the concert program. They will also have performance opportunities with the Boy Singers of Maine.
