Robert Gans, Piano Faculty
Robert’s journey in the music world has taught him that to reach people, it’s necessary to speak their language, and contribute something meaningful to the conversation. Robert returned to the Portland Conservatory of Music in 2017 after 6 years in the San Francisco Bay area teaching piano, music theory, and composition privately and at local music schools while continuing to compose, perform and produce recordings of his work. Prior to that, he worked at the Portland Conservatory from 2005 to 2010.
Robert received his Bachelor’s degree in music from the State University of New York at Oswego where he studied piano with Anthony Crain. After exploring post baccalaureate study he returned home to New York City for seven years where he studied piano with concert pianist John Contiguglia, and composer Roland Trogan, and worked in the music industry. Further details on Robert’s background and examples of his work are available online at his website www.robertgansmusic.com and Soundcloud.
