Jeff Christmas, Voice
Originally from North Carolina, Jeff Christmas is a baritone who has experience singing and teaching in a variety of styles. As a classical singer Jeff has performed with the Boston Lyric Opera, Knoxville Opera, Greenville Light Opera Works and more. Jeff got his Masters of Music at the Boston Conservatory where he studied with William Cotten Sheri Greenawald, and Michael Strauss.
In addition to the classical work, Jeff has always enjoyed musical theater and contemporary singing. As a singer Jeff has performed with acts ranging in style from Synth Art Piano Pop to an Americana banjo-based trio. He’s played electric guitar in rock bands, bass in the pit for modern dance performances, and piano for classical singers. He is comfortable with a diverse range of musical genres and enjoys working with a wide range of students.
In addition to teaching at Portland Conservatory of Music and serving as the Division Director of Karger College Prep, Jeff also teaches music theory and voice at Bowdoin College, manages his own private studio, directs vocal and instrumental ensembles at Baxter Academy, and performs as a soloist and in various ensembles around Portland.
