Amanda Raymond, Piano Faculty
Amanda Raymond, of North Waterboro, is a senior piano performance major at the University of Southern Maine. She has been a student of Laura Kargul since 2011; her prior music studies were with Christine Kissack (piano) and Ronald Lantz (violin). Amanda has won the Bangor Symphony Concerto Competition, the Ocy L. Downs Piano Competition, the Lucia A. Wright Piano Competition, Maine State Pine Tree Piano Competition, the Contemporary Music Festival Piano Competition at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, the A.H. Chatfield Jr. Piano Prize from Bay Chamber Concerts, and the Kotzschmar Memorial Trust Scholarship. At USM she has won the Honors Recital Award, the Chamber Music Award and the Concerto Competition. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with both the Portland Symphony (Merrill Auditorium) and the Bangor Symphony (Collins Center for the Arts), and also with the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra. In addition to solo performing, Amanda actively collaborates with area soloists and musical organizations such as the Portland Symphony and the Choral Arts Society. Amanda also studies voice with Elisabeth Marshall.
