Barbara Paschke

Barbara Paschke received her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the Ithaca College School of Music and her Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory.  Her principal teachers include Einar Holm, Lawrence Lesser, Madeline Foley, and David Wells.  She has done extensive Suzuki teacher training with Gilda Barston, Jean Dixon, and Rick Mooney.
Ms. Paschke is a longtime member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra. She is also one of the teaching artists with the Portland Symphony sponsored education program, PSO Explorers, dedicated to teaching literacy, community and sharing through music. She has just recently moved to Maine from Massachusetts, where she maintained a private studio of over 40 students using both traditional and Suzuki Methods. Ms. Paschke is also on the faculty of the New England Conservatory Prep School. She previously served on the faculty of the Longy School of Music in Cambridge MA and the Rivers School of Weston, MA.  She was a longtime member of the Indian Hill Symphony Orchestra in Littleton, MA. and has performed in many chamber groups throughout the Boston Area.
Barbara now lives in Poland, Maine with her husband David and her children Daniel and Rebekah.
